President's Award for Excellence (2009)

The International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association

407 ETR was recognized with a Toll Excellence Award in Technology for its state-of-the-art Vehicle Fingerprinting technology, and chosen from a group of Toll Excellence Award winners to receive the President’s Award for Excellence, the highest honour given in the industry from the world's foremost authority on tolling.

Implemented in May 2006, this technology resulted in:

  • A 20% decrease in manual verification.
  • 37% reduction in headcount.
  • 17% improvement in readability of plates.
  • Increase accuracy of billing led to increased customer satisfaction.
