United Way

407 ETR is a proud supporter of the United Way. Each year, 407 ETR and its employees plan and participate in a fundraising campaign in support of United Way of York Region (UWYR).

407 ETR’s 2009 campaign was a record-setter. Our goal was $35,000 in employee donations and we surpassed that goal by more than $500! 407 ETR matched each employee contribution with $2 for every $1 donated, bringing the total amount raised to over $106,000. 407 ETR also hosted a “Lose Your Hair To Show Your Care” event, with six employees volunteering to have their heads shaved if our campaign met its goal.

The funds raised by 407 ETR are allocated to the United Way’s Community Fund, which supports 39 human care agencies in York Region, delivering over 100 critical programs in five priority areas, including affordable housing, literacy and domestic violence.
