Since 1999, 407 ETR has invested over $1.2 billion to construct and maintain the highway. 407 ETR has opened a new lane in each direction between Highway 400 and Highway 404. These new lanes will provide drivers with even more fast, safe and reliable trips.
The expansion project took place over the spring and summer, with few lane closures and minimal impact on drivers. The lanes were built well ahead of time in anticipation of increased demand.
We place the highest priority on the safety of our customers and our employees, and ask that motorists use caution and pay extra attention to slow moving construction vehicles while travelling through areas of construction.
Work to improve and maintain the highway will take place at various locations throughout the spring and summer. Most work will take place in off-peak hours and weekends. Below please find a schedule for the next three weeks. This schedule will be updated regularly so please be sure to check back frequently. There may be temporary night time closures, not included in this list.
