The system that reads vehicle licence plates, records transponder signals and saves and transmits data for processing is part of an extensive and sophisticated technology infrastructure.
407 ETR continues to use and develop leading edge technology and equipment that increase the accuracy and reliability of our systems. The installation of new cameras and lighting is just one example of how the company has used new and very sophisticated technology to customize the systems it needs to better serve customers.
Monitoring systems can detect and report any problem with any camera or detection device and immediately report it to head office for maintenance.
The company continues to win awards for excellence in customer service and innovation.
In 2010, 407 ETR was recognized by the Intelligent Transportation Systems Society of Canada for its vehicle fingerprinting system. 407 ETR was awarded the first-ever New Canadian Commercial Technology/Innovation or Research and Development Award.
In 2009, 407 ETR won the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association President’s Award (IBTTA) for Excellence. This award, one of the most prestigious of its kind, recognizes creativity and innovation and was based on the company’s use of state-of-the-art technology solutions.
In 2008, 407 ETR, together with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO), was awarded the National Award for Innovation and Excellence by the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) in the Service Delivery category.
