Keep our highways safe, report impaired drivers

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and 407 ETR are committed to promoting driver safety.

This summer, 407 ETR will use its Dynamic Messaging Signage (DMS) to remind drivers to call 911 immediately if they suspect an impaired driver is on the highway.

This initiative stems from "Campaign 911" a program launched by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) in partnership with the OPP and Ministry of Transportation.

407 ETR's DMS sign on the highway will remind drivers to help keep roads safe by calling 911 to report a suspected impaired driver.

If you see a suspected impaired driver while driving:

  • Pull over safely
  • Call 911, with as much information possible, such as:
    • Your location
    • Vehicle Description
    • Licence plate number of vehicle
    • Colour of vehicle
    • Make and Model of vehicle
    • Direction of Travel for the vehicle

You can do your part by not drinking and driving and always being alert on the roads - your call can save a life.
