Evergreen is a national not-for-profit that inspires action to green cities.
With more than 85 percent of Canadians living in cities, our disconnection from nature has never been greater – causing real problems for the health of the environment, our communities and our economy.
Evergreen's work is driven by its belief in the power of people to enact positive change and restore the natural health of their communities. Focusing on four program areas—Greenspace, Children, Food and CityWorks – Evergreen builds partnerships with diverse groups and engages key influencers and the public to inspire local action and create sustainable cities.
At Evergreen Brick Works, a community environmental centre located in Toronto, Evergreen offer a range of programs that empower the public to get involved in cultivating new ideas and solutions to green their communities.
407 ETR partnered with Evergreen to sponsor community tree planting and stewardship events in the Greater Toronto Area. These events, which were open to the public and also supported by 407 ETR staff, helped revitalize the integrity and increase the biodiversity of parks in local communities.
